It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was out her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
